Description

The Salt Lodge is a Grade II listed luxury self catering holiday home in the extremely popular Downalong area of St Ives. Set over three floors it sleeps up to 8 guests and is perfect for two families holidaying together or one large family with uncompromised sleeping arrangements.

The large open plan kitchen / dining area gives the property a real home-from-home feel and perfect for dining when the kids are in bed. St Eia street is one of the quieter streets so makes for easy unloading at any time of the day.

The Downalong area of St Ives is popular with holiday makers due to its abundance of fisherman's cottages lining cobbled streets and close location to two of the main three beaches of St. Ives; Porthwidden - a smaller family beach just 30 seconds from house, and Porthmeor - popular with the surfers and only a 2 minute walk away.

St Ives is a beautiful town with award winning golden sands and clear sea, cobbled streets filled with fisherman's cottages, galleries and craft shops alongside modern restaurants and cafes. The bustling harbour is home to many fishing boats that bring in quality catches of local fish that you will find in many of the restaurants.

Locations

St Ives has been renowned throughout the South West for many years for its dual fishing and artistic heritage and now as a family-friendly holiday destination. This small but picturesque town boasts three superb beaches all perfect for family-fun or romantic picnics, plus the harbour beach where you can sit and watch the local fishermen. The harbour is a hive of activity with fishing and sailing being the main focus coupled with and the hustle and bustle of open fronted restaurants and people watching the world go by.

The pretty narrow streets of St Ives are brimming with galleries, craft shops, restaurants and cafes all just waiting to be discovered. The main street is pedestrianised with narrow lanes branching off towards the harbour where you will find a large choice of cafes and restaurants; the perfect place to relax with a drink and a bite to eat whilst enjoying the breathtaking view.

Situated in the 'downalong' district of St Ives, the heart of the town's traditional fishing community, the modern architecture of the Tate St Ives over looking Porthmeor Beach is a pleasant contrast. It is home to an inspiring collection of both modern and contemporary art and also includes The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
